For organisers

Your competition. Our invigilation.

Set your own problems for your own entrants, and let them sit the round from wherever they are, recorded the same way as our rounds. You mark each script with the recordings beside it, or our graders do, if we've agreed that with you.

Reach the people who can't get to the hall

A paper competition usually means one room on one afternoon. Students on placement or abroad, alumni, and people at universities without a sitting all miss out. On HeadSolved they sit the same problem at the same moment as everyone else, at home, and you can still trust the result.

How it works for you

  1. Set the problem

Schedule a round from your organisation's page: the problem, its solution and marking guide, and when it runs. The problem is encrypted until the start.

  2. Stay private or go public

If you want to stay private, entrants can come in via a personalized link, and your competition won't be advertised on our website. For an extra fee, you can also put it on our public calendar and reach our full body of users.

  3. They sit it, recorded

The problem appears for everyone at the same moment. Each entrant works on paper, recorded by their webcam, their whole screen and their phone, stood to one side.

  4. Mark it, get results

Your markers mark each write-up with the recordings and any flags beside it (or our graders do, by arrangement). Then download the results as a spreadsheet. Users can get custom badges on our site for participation and high performance.

What you get

Good to know

  • Entrants make a free HeadSolved account, and for now they need to be 18 or over.
  • Each entrant needs a computer with a webcam (Chrome, Edge or Firefox), a phone, paper and a pen.
  • Rounds can ask for a full written solution, or a single number from 0 to 999.
  • Your problems stay yours: afterwards only your entrants, your organisation and our staff can see them. They don't go into our public archive.
  • We set up your organisation with you, so start by getting in touch.
